Project Mex

A new Optus Stadium retail outlet specialising in Mexican inspired food will open for the first time at AFL Origin.

Located at Aisle 141 on the Level 1 concourse, Project Mex continues the stadium’s focus on further extending the diverse array of food and beverage options available to fans, building on the more than 120 different hot food and 25 different cold food options currently available at outlets.

Optus Stadium CEO Mike McKenna said the venue’s food and beverage team was always looking for ways to make attendance at events more enjoyable for fans.

“Introducing Project Mex into the mix will deliver vibrant, fresh flavours and is a response to demand for more of our in-house healthier food options, with a balance of fresh, smoky and spicy, perfect for all event types,” Mr McKenna said.

“It follows the recent introduction of WA-first retail food outlets Biggie Smalls and Proper Burgers by Matt Moran and the Curry Pot, which have proved very popular additions.

“We will, of course, continue to offer fan favourites like our range of pizzas, burgers, chicken and seafood options, hotdogs and Mrs Macs pies, along with other healthy options like Salads, fruit, low sugar and low fat menu options).”

Fans visiting the new outlet can enjoy Quesadillas, Burritos, Burrito Bowls and Fresh Tortilla chips, with toppings of choice (Guacamole, Sour Cream, Pico de Gallo, Queso), as well as plenty of side options (Guacamole, Sour Cream, Pico de Gallo, Queso, Jalapenos, House Hot Green sauce, Black Beans and Corn, Mexican Rice).

In addition to the introduction of Project Mex, Optus Stadium is pulling out all stops to make AFL Origin a memorable experience for fans and has developed some retail food specials just for this match.
