Football and beer are a match made in heaven – and this August, fans can enjoy a taste of Italy with the launch of Costa Speciale, an exclusive Italian-inspired pilsner brewed right here in Western Australia.

Created by Gage Roads Brew Co as part of the Calcio Italiano festival, Costa Speciale has been crafted to capture the spirit of Italian football, hospitality and community. The limited-release beer will be available at Optus Stadium throughout the Calcio Italiano matches, giving fans the perfect accompaniment.

Costa Speciale is an unfiltered Italian pilsner that delivers crisp lager refreshment with subtle floral spice, bright citrus and lemongrass notes, finishing clean and dry. It has been brewed as a local interpretation of the Italian character that will define this year's festival.

The beer forms part of a wider celebration that extends beyond the game. As Calcio Italiano brings AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Palermo to Perth, the festival will showcase the rich culture, food and traditions that make Italian football so unique.

Costa Speciale also celebrates Palermo's historic first tour of Australia, with the Sicilian club set to make Fremantle its home away from home during the festival. The beer will feature both at Optus Stadium and at Casa Sicilia at Gage Roads Brew Co, where fans can immerse themselves in Sicilian food, music, entertainment and football culture throughout the week.

Tickets remain on sale through Ticketmaster, with prices starting from $49.80.

Costa Speciale will be available on Wednesday 5 August & Saturday 8 August at Optus Stadium.
