The new Thornlie-Cockburn Line is opened!

Full services on the new line commenced on Monday 9 June, and includes connections to Stadium Station, Perth Station and a cross link from east to west. Stations along the line include new stations at Nicholson Road and Ranford Road and upgraded stations at Thornlie and Cockburn Central.

Key Changes:

Weekend/Public Holidays Service

  • Getting to the Stadium
    • For weekend services, direct trains to Perth Stadium Station will operate on the Mandurah and Yanchep Lines.
    • For Mandurah Line passengers, direct trains from Mandurah to Perth Stadium Station will travel via Cockburn Central stopping at all stations to Thornlie then express to Perth Stadium Station.
    • From Perth to Stadium, direct services on Thornlie-Cockburn Line and additional express event trains will be operating. Alternatively catch the Armadale Line stopping all stations to Stadium.
    • Fremantle passengers can catch a timetabled service to Perth Station and transfer to the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn Line to arrive at Perth Stadium Station.
    • The Suburban Bus network will operate pre-event with all buses arriving to Bus Hub.
    • Bus Route 656 will now depart from Willetton instead of Canning Vale. Passengers travelling from Canning Vale or surround suburbs can travel to the new Ranford Road or Nicholson Road stations on the Thornlie-Cockburn Line and then board a direct train service to Perth Stadium Station.
  • Getting Home
    • Direct trains on the Fremantle, Mandurah, Thornlie-Cockburn and Yanchep lines will operate after the event.
    • Trains stopping at all stations on the Armadale line between Perth Stadium Station and Cannington.
    • The Suburban Bus network will operate from Bus Hub post event for 45 minutes.

Weekday Service

  • Getting to the Stadium
    • On weekdays, there is no direct special rail services to Perth Stadium Station.
    • All patrons to catch a timetabled rail service to Perth Station and transfer to the Armadale or Thornlie-Cockburn line to arrive at Perth Stadium Station.
    • Mandurah Line passengers travelling to the Stadium can transfer at Cockburn Central stopping all stops to Perth Stadium Station.
    • There is no Suburban Bus network in operation.

  • Getting Home
    • Direct trains on the Fremantle, Mandurah, Thornlie-Cockburn and Yanchep lines will operate after the event.
    • Trains stopping at all stations on the Armadale line between Perth Stadium Station and Cannington.
    • The Suburban Bus network will operate from Bus Hub post event for 45 minutes.
