Welcome to Optus Stadium
I am going to attend an event at Optus Stadium.
Crowds
When I arrive, I might have to wait in a line or a crowd of people to get into the Stadium.
Security
A security person might ask to scan me with their wand. They do this to keep everyone safe at the game.
Bag check
If I bring a small bag, security will need to check the contents of my bag.
Scan your ticket
I will scan my ticket at a gate. When the light turns green I will walk through the gate.
Eating & drinking
I can buy food and drink at the Stadium, or we can bring something from home.
Loud noises
Lots of people like to attend events at Optus Stadium, so it might be busy and loud. People like to cheer, clap and yell. This means they are happy and excited.
Lights & special effects
Sometimes they have special effects at Optus Stadium, such as fireworks, flashing lights or loud music playing through speakers.
Need help?
If I need help while I am at Optus Stadium, I can ask a staff member wearing a yellow uniform.
Need a break?
If there is too much noise or I feel overwhelmed, I can ask for a break or put on headphones. I can also visit the Sensory Room.
Getting to the Sensory Room
To get to the Sensory Room, I can go to Level 1 and follow the signs to Aisle 148. I might have to walk through the Stadium to get to the Sensory Room. This is ok, because it will be quiet and calm when I get there.
Sensory Room welcome
A staff member will greet me at the Sensory Room entry.
Sensory Room
The Sensory Room has beanbags, calming things to look at and touch, and some private spaces. In the Sensory Room I might still hear people cheering, but it is much quieter than sitting in the seats.
Enjoy your visit
Attending events at Optus Stadium is fun! I can come back and visit again.
